Classic Italian furniture

Over the past 15 years or so the Italian and Tuscan design aspect has really become more and more popular in the furniture and interior design world. What is it though, that makes this style so different from other design styles in furniture and interior design? For starters, with it is a design style that mimics the many influences of Italian and Roman history.

For example, you might find materials such as polished stone and marble as well as iron work in this type of furniture style. Furniture in the Tuscan style also typically possesses some unique architectural elements in the design of things such as the legs on chairs that resembles fluted columns. Classic Italian furniture also has very ornamental features and at times can even have geometric elements also.

In Tuscany, wrought iron can be incredibly beautiful, especially when combined with iron leaves and wines winding down their way around  the basic ironwork in this type of structure. Often the wrought iron furniture also incorporates the element of polished marble or the tiles of mosaics.

Modern style furniture dates back as far as the 14th century when European architecture went through a total transformation. It was back then that Italian architects learned how to make the buildings that they designed taller and they also learned how to make the domes on top of them wider and sturdier.

It is these basic design features that  contemporary Italian or Tuscan design furniture relies strictly on. This style of furniture is so popular because of it’s Mediterranean  deign aspect.
